Brisbane residents fight to save a beloved cubby house

Angry parents have voiced frustration at a decision by their local council to demolish a popular children’s cubby house in their local park.

Brisbane City Council intends to remove the cubby house in the suburb of Newmarket after receiving a complaint about its location in a tree overlooking a backyard pool.

The council has offered to let local children design a replacement cubby house – as long as their local councillor agrees to pay for it.
